“Greenwich's Galleon Theatre Company gives a bold, brazen interpretation wildly different from its usual fare of classics” - The Stage

The White Devil

Performed at the Greenwich Playhouse May 2002

The White Devil - Performed by the Galleon Theatre CompanyJohn Webster has probably provoked the sharpest controversy of all major English dramatists. His tragedies are rich in dramatic imagery and his language fleshy and palpable. They present their audience with moral dilemmas which are timeless and always elusive.

Galleon's production of The White Devil created a vulgar world of gaudy images and suffocating misogyny. A world where humanity in all its flawed complexity and fatastic diversity, violently and passionately struggles to survive.
